Race against dusk: A perilous river crossing

The sun blazed at its zenith, but the group had to sustain a grueling pace to reach the river before four o’clock and cross on foot. Forecasting the risks, the hastily planned expedition aimed to arrive an hour before nightfall. Josh the inexperienced safari guide knew that darkness would make the crossing more perilous, with crocodiles lurking in the still waters. Josh could hardly endure the thought of one or more clients being seized by the fierce, glistening jaws of these predators under the flashlight beams. Every step counted, and hesitation could mean disaster in this treacherous race against time.
